ICE Deported 363 Pregnant and Postpartum Women in 13 Months, Data Reveals; 16 Miscarriages Recorded

Between January 2025 and February 2026, ICE deported 363 pregnant, postpartum, and nursing immigrants, with 16 miscarriages recorded in detention, according to DHS data released in response to Sen. Patty Murray. As of February, 121 actively detained individuals were pregnant, postpartum, or nursing. Human Rights Watch and Physicians for Human Rights documented systemic violations of ICEs own detention standards for vulnerable populations, including denied prenatal care and family separations. ICEs custody population has reached 72,000, a 75% surge in one year.
