TRANSCOM Stands Up Aeromedical Evacuation Network for Operation Epic Fury; 200+ Wounded, 13+ Killed
US Transportation Command established a dedicated aeromedical evacuation network to bring home wounded service members from Operation Epic Fury, the US-led campaign launched February 28. Approximately 200 service members were wounded in the first two weeks, with at least 13 killed. Gen. Randall Reed described challenges including contested airspace, disrupted communications, and limited airfield access.
