Houthis Hold Back from Iran War Despite Pressure; Ceasefire with US Takes Priority

Despite Iran's other proxy groups engaging in the conflict, the Houthis have issued only protests and declarations, refraining from military action since October 2025. The group appears committed to its Oman-brokered ceasefire with the US signed last May to avoid jeopardizing the deal. However, the Stimson Center reports the Houthis are waiting for Iranian approval to resume attacks should Hormuz control weaken.
