3.2 Million Iranians Displaced; Over 2,200 Dead Across Region in 17 Days

The UN reports up to 3.2 million Iranians forcibly displaced since Feb 28, primarily fleeing Tehran and major cities northward and into rural areas. The confirmed death toll stands at 1,444 in Iran with 18,551 injured; total regional deaths exceed 2,200. More than 25 hospitals have been damaged, with nine forced completely out of service. The fighting also jeopardizes 1.65 million refugees already in Iran, including 750,000 Afghans.
