Iranian Missiles Strike Near Dimona Nuclear Facility; 115 Injured as Air Defense Gaps Exposed

Iranian ballistic missiles struck the southern Israeli towns of Arad and Dimona on March 22, injuring at least 115 people and shearing facades off apartment blocks. The IDF acknowledged it failed to intercept the missiles that hit both cities, despite a 92% overall interception rate. Dimona's proximity to Israel's primary nuclear research reactor gave the strikes outsized strategic significance. Iran claimed the attack targeted the nuclear facility in retaliation for the Natanz strike. The IAEA confirmed no abnormal radiation levels were detected but urged restraint near nuclear sites. Falling interceptor debris caused approximately 15 additional injuries in Tel Aviv.
