Czech News Roundup March 22: Post-Protest Tensions, Zizkov Tower Evacuation, Airsoft Incident Near Rally

In the aftermath of Saturday's 250,000-strong anti-government protest in Prague, Sunday brought continued political tensions. The Zizkov Tower was evacuated after elevator motor sparks triggered smoke sensors — no connection to the protests was established. Police detained a man who fired an airsoft gun near the Letna protest site. The governing ANO-SPD-Motorists coalition pushed back through chairman Petr Macinka, who said democracy 'is being threatened not by the government but by groups unwilling to accept the outcome of free elections.' Former PM Fiala and opposition leaders praised the turnout as evidence of civic engagement.
