ICE Deploys to 13+ Airports for TSA Crowd Management as Shutdown Enters 43rd Day

Hundreds of ICE officers deployed to at least 13 major airports including Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson, Chicago O'Hare, and JFK for crowd management as TSA staffing collapsed during the 43rd day of the DHS shutdown. The largest federal workers' union warned ICE agents are untrained in airport security and 'create gaps, not fill them.' Over 400 TSA officers have quit and the call-out rate reached critical levels, with remaining screeners working without pay since mid-February. Atlanta Mayor Dickens confirmed all federal personnel report to TSA for line management tasks.
