Israel Kills IRGC Navy Commander Tangsiri Responsible for Strait of Hormuz Blockade

Israel killed IRGC Navy commander Admiral Alireza Tangsiri in an airstrike on a naval base in Bandar Abbas, confirmed by US CENTCOM. Tangsiri was directly responsible for mining and blocking the Strait of Hormuz. The strike also killed IRGC Navy intelligence chief Behnam Rezaei and several senior naval officers. Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated the operation was "precise and lethal." The assassination continues Israel's campaign of targeted killings against senior Iranian military leadership since the war began February 28.

Analysis
Tangsiri was the operational architect of the Hormuz blockade. His elimination, along with the IRGC Navy intelligence chief, decapitates the command structure managing Iran's most effective strategic lever. Watch whether Iran's Hormuz enforcement loosens or tightens in the 48-72 hours post-strike as succession plays out.
