DOE's SRNL Advances CRAFT Technology for Light-Controlled 3D Printing of Thermoplastics

Savannah River National Laboratory developed CRAFT (Lithographic Crystallinity Regulation in Additive Fabrication of Thermoplastics), a technology using light to fine-tune material properties during 3D printing. The approach allows real-time control of strength, flexibility, and durability, potentially enabling single-build components with variable material properties -- a capability with significant defense and aerospace applications.
