Turkey Unveils First Intercontinental Ballistic Missile With Claimed 6,000km Range at SAHA 2026

Turkey's Ministry of Defense unveiled the Yildirimhan intercontinental ballistic missile on May 5 at the SAHA 2026 defense exhibition in Istanbul. State broadcaster TRT World and Anadolu Agency reported the system capable of Mach 25 speeds and a 6,000-kilometer range, driven by four rocket engines; TRT World identified the developer as the Defense Ministry's R&D Center. Ministry representatives at the SAHA stand declined to discuss the missile, Breaking Defense reported. Defense analyst Ali Bakir, a professor at Qatar University, told Breaking Defense the program "is in an advanced stage" and that actual capabilities "may exceed the publicly disclosed parameters."
