Ukraine Unmanned Systems Forces Report 1150 Percent Increase in Deep Strikes Since January 2026

BLUFUSF deep-strike capacity has likely institutionalized at scale, with July mission counts expected to exceed June's 2,359 sorties and further compress Russia's interior air-defense coverage.

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi said USF strikes deep inside Russian-held territory increased 1,150% since the start of 2026, based on the force's June operational summary 1Ukrainska Pravda" data-url="https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2026/07/03/8042216/" data-rt="secondary" data-mbfc="mixed" data-otype="digital_news">2. Operators flew 2,359 deep-strike missions in June targeting sites 500-2,000 kilometers behind the front, hitting 172 military-industrial and fuel-energy facilities including the Ilsky, Afipsky, Novokuibyshevsk and Moscow refineries and naval infrastructure at Kronstadt, including the corvette Boyky, as well as command centers at Dubna, Skolkovo and Medvezhyi Ozera 12. USF also reported 3,406 mid-range missions (150-300 km) that hit or destroyed 1,682 targets and 2,747 front-line missions (25-150 km) that hit or destroyed 1,265 targets 12. Brovdi said there is no longer a "peaceful rear" across the European part of Russia 12.

Analysis
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces will likely report more than 2,359 deep-strike missions in its July operational summary, expected in early August, sustaining the escalation trajectory Brovdi has publicized since January. The scale of June's campaign, spanning refineries, naval infrastructure, and space-communications nodes across the European rear, indicates institutionalized targeting capacity rather than a one-off surge. Continued expansion would further strain Russian refining and logistics capacity behind the front, forcing Moscow to divert air defense assets deeper into its interior. Moderate confidence reflects reliance on USF's own reporting without independent verification of strike outcomes.
