US Reaffirms Taiwan Six Assurances; $11.1B in Arms Sales Past 90 Days

State Department and DOD officials testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee that the Six Assurances to Taiwan remain unchanged and the Iran war will not affect Taiwan weapons deliveries. The US announced $11.1B in Taiwan arms sales in the past 90 days. The hearing addressed concerns that Middle East operations could divert resources from Indo-Pacific deterrence.
