Florida Leads Nation in ICE Arrests at 120/Day From Miami Alone; Orange County Booking 185 Without Criminal Charges in Single Day

Tampa Bay Times analysis of ICE data reveals Florida's Miami field office averages 120 arrests daily — up from 70/day in January 2025 — with 9,880 total as of March 10, leading all field offices nationally. The St. Paul, MN office is second with 5,530 (4,300 fewer). Orange County Jail data shows a peak of 185 people booked without criminal charges beyond immigration violations in a single day. Approximately half of ICE arrests nationwide involve people already in local custody, but the other half are community arrests of individuals with no criminal record. An estimated 1 million immigrants in Florida are identified as potentially deportable.
