Taiwan Confirms Next US Arms Purchase on Track After Security Guarantee

Taiwan confirmed its next US arms purchase remains on track after receiving security guarantees, despite the Pentagon's consideration of diverting weapons to the Middle East. The reassurance comes as Japan simultaneously deploys 1,000 troops to the Philippines, signaling sustained Indo-Pacific military commitment even as the Iran war consumes US resources. The purchase includes air defense systems critical to Taiwan's deterrence posture against Chinese military pressure across the Taiwan Strait.
