13 US Service Members Killed Since Feb 28; Six Die in KC-135 Crash Over Iraq

Thirteen American service members have died since operations began Feb 28, with ~140 wounded and 8 severely injured. The initial casualties included six Army reservists killed by an Iranian drone strike on a Kuwaiti port. On March 12, six more died when a KC-135 Stratotanker crashed over western Iraq. The Pentagon attributed the loss to neither hostile nor friendly fire. The cumulative toll is fueling domestic debate over the war's scope and authorization.
