At Least 250 Rohingya and Bangladeshi Migrants Missing After Boat Capsizes in Andaman Sea

At least 250 people including Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi nationals are missing after their overcrowded trawler capsized in the Andaman Sea en route to Malaysia, UN agencies and NBC News reported on April 15. The vessel departed Cox's Bazar with nearly 280 people, including women and children, on April 4 before being hit by a storm after three days. Nine survivors were pulled from wreckage by a passing vessel. Myanmar's Rohingya minority continue to risk dangerous sea crossings as they face violence at home and deteriorating conditions in Bangladeshi refugee camps.
