HPSCI Schedules Closed Hearing on NRO, NGA, and Space Force FY2027 Budget Requests

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's Subcommittee on Defense Intelligence and Overhead Architecture has scheduled a closed hearing on April 16 to review FY2027 budget requests for the National Reconnaissance Office, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and U.S. Space Force. The hearing coincides with the largest defense budget request since World War II and will examine overhead architecture requirements as the NRO aims to quadruple its satellite constellation within a decade. The classified session follows the HASC chair's declaration that trillion-dollar defense budgets are the new normal.
