Amazon Imposes 3.5% War Surcharge on Third-Party Sellers as Fuel Costs Spike
Amazon added a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on US and Canadian third-party sellers, effective April 17 for FBA services and May 2 for Buy with Prime. The company cited war-driven fuel cost increases it had been absorbing since February. The charge averages 17 cents per unit and is calculated on fulfillment fees, not sale price. Amazon joins UPS, FedEx, and USPS in passing Iran war fuel costs to customers. The surcharge remains indefinite.
