Former Marine Intelligence Analyst Charged With Transmitting Classified Information to China

Seth Chambers, 35, a former Marine Corps intelligence analyst, was indicted on two counts of willful transmission of national defense information after allegedly sending secret-level documents to individuals suspected of residing in China. Chambers held TS clearance as a civilian contractor in Iraq.

The Chambers indictment partially fills that gap: a cleared former intelligence professional allegedly transmitting to Chinese contacts. This is the first AI-related economic espionage conviction (Linwei Ding, January 2026) followed by a military intelligence leak in the same quarter.
