FBI Director Patel Accuses Bureau of Illegally Spying on Trump Campaign via FISA Warrants

On May 6, FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News' "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" that former FBI Director James Comey illegally obtained FISA warrants to spy on Trump's 2016 campaign. Patel said the applications rested on fabricated material he called "packaged lies," purchased with campaign funds from a foreign-recruited asset, and that the FISA court later invalidated the warrants after finding the FBI withheld exculpatory evidence and "essentially lied" in the filings.
