2026 Threat Assessment Omits Foreign Election Interference for First Time Since 2017

The 2026 Annual Threat Assessment is the first since 2017 to exclude any discussion of foreign threats to U.S. elections. The omission follows the administration's dissolution of election security functions at CISA and comes as the IC's Tradecraft Review -- completed under Ratcliffe -- referred former CIA Director Brennan and former FBI Director Comey for prosecution over the 2017 ICA on Russian election interference.
