IRGC Claims Strikes on Oracle Data Center in UAE as Part of Escalating Campaign Against US Tech Infrastructure

The IRGC claimed it struck Oracle's data center and cloud computing infrastructure in Dubai in retaliation for the assassination of Iranian diplomat Kamal Kharrazi. The claimed strike follows an April 1 deadline the IRGC set for 18 U.S. tech companies, including Palantir, Oracle, Microsoft, and Amazon, to evacuate Gulf facilities or be designated legitimate military targets. Dubai denied any attack on Oracle facilities. The IRGC had earlier claimed strikes on Amazon cloud infrastructure in Bahrain. Several of the targeted companies provide backend infrastructure for U.S. intelligence and military operations.

Analysis
Several of the 18 targeted companies, Palantir, Oracle, Amazon AWS, provide backend infrastructure for U.S. military and intelligence operations in the Gulf. The Oracle strike claim is contested: IRGC stated it struck the facility, Dubai denied any attack. No independent verification exists. Primary reporting originates from IRGC-affiliated PressTV; Western outlets are relying on secondary accounts. If verified, this would mark the first kinetic attack on civilian cloud infrastructure supporting U.S. government operations.
