Russia Launches 339-Drone Overnight Barrage Against Western Ukraine

Russia launched 339 drones overnight targeting western Ukraine, including approximately 200 Shahed-type long-range drones. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 298 of them, but at least 20 evaded and struck targets in Khmelnytskyi and Lutsk, damaging residential buildings and a Nova Post logistics terminal. The attack came hours after Zelenskyy proposed an Easter ceasefire, which the Kremlin rejected. Ukraine's air defense intercepted 89.9% of Russian missiles and drones in March.

Analysis
The 339-drone barrage targeting western Ukraine, far from the front lines, came hours after Zelenskyy's Easter ceasefire proposal, functioning as Moscow's operational rejection. The 88% intercept rate demonstrates maturing Ukrainian air defense, but the 20 drones that evaded highlight continued vulnerability in depth.
