Firefly Blue Ghost Completes Record-Breaking Commercial Lunar Mission
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander completed the longest commercial lunar surface mission to date, operating for 346 hours of daylight plus 5 hours into the lunar night before going dark on March 16. The mission achieved 100% of NASA objectives after performing the first fully successful commercial Moon landing on March 2. Blue Ghost captured unique data on dust behavior changes after sunset.
Analysis
Mission began March 2 -- same day as the Iran war. Blue Ghost's successful 346-hour surface operation demonstrates commercial lunar capability maturing even as global attention is consumed by the conflict.
