Russia Firing More Missiles and Drones Than Ukraine Can Intercept as Gap Widens

BLUFRussia's ballistic missile tempo will likely outrun Ukraine's intercept capacity through the end of August 2026, with Patriot resupply timelines, not tactical adaptation, as the binding constraint.

An AFP analysis of Ukrainian air force data found Russia launched 376 missiles at Ukraine in July, more than twice June's total and a monthly record 12. Of those, 126 were ballistic missiles, the highest monthly figure of 2026 and up from 96 in June, according to the Oko Gora monitoring project cited by Militarnyi and UNITED24 Media 34.
