EU Accuses Russia of Providing Intelligence and Drone Technology to Iran for Targeting US Forces

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas accused Russia of providing satellite imagery and drone technology upgrades to Iran, enabling Tehran to target American forces and neighboring countries. European ministers plan to raise the issue with Secretary of State Rubio at the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in France. Kallas argued that if the US wants the Iran war to stop, it should pressure Russia to cease its support. Moscow has denied sharing intelligence on US military assets, according to US special envoy Witkoff.

Analysis
Kallas's framing, "Russia is helping Iran kill Americans," is designed to force a policy linkage between the Iran war and Russia-Ukraine policy. If accepted, it could provide the diplomatic basis for tightening sanctions on Russia or accelerating European defense spending. The G7 venue makes this a formal diplomatic demarche, not just a press statement.
