DHS Paycheck Confusion Deepens as Shutdown Enters Seventh Week

A DHS memo warning paychecks could stop after the current pay period caused alarm among 240,000+ department employees, though officials later clarified TSA workers would continue to be paid under Trump's executive order. TSA officers report receiving only partial backpay, roughly half of overdue amounts, with some checks short by $1,000+. Nearly 500 transportation security officers have resigned since the shutdown began, and sick-call rates are at record highs. Congress left for a two-week recess without resolving DHS funding.
