Donetsk Oblast War Damage Exceeds 26 Billion Dollars With Industry Accounting for 22 Billion in Losses

BLUFKyiv is building a granular, sector-level damage ledger designed to anchor future reparations claims and steer donor reconstruction funding toward Donetsk heavy industry.

The Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported to RFE/RL's Donbas Realities that preliminary war losses to the region's economy exceeded 1.08 trillion hryvnias (roughly $26 billion) as of August 1 12. Industry absorbed the largest share at 909.4 billion hryvnias (about $22 billion), followed by electricity and gas at 156.5 billion hryvnias, agriculture at 11.8 billion, transport at 1.5 billion, and other sectors at 1 billion 34.
