Russia Launches 110 Drones Overnight Against Ukraine; Air Defense Intercepts Majority
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 110 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other drones on the night of April 6-7, with about 70 being Shahed loitering munitions. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted the majority of incoming drones. This follows the April 1 mass strike of over 700 drones in 24 hours that caused widespread power outages in western Ukraine, Russia's response to Zelensky's energy ceasefire proposal. ISW drew parallels between Russia's new combined day/night drone tactics and Iranian operational patterns.
