IC Workforce Cuts Continue: CIA Plans 1,200 Position Reduction, NSA to Shed 2,000

The Trump administration is executing a phased drawdown across the intelligence community, with the CIA targeting 1,200 positions and NSA cutting up to 2,000 civilian roles. Reductions extend to every combat support agency including DIA, NRO, and NGA. Several hundred CIA employees have already taken early retirement. The cuts coincide with an active kinetic operation in Iran, raising concerns from current and former officials that diminished capacity will degrade collection on the very threats driving the conflict.
