Russia Sharing Satellite Imagery and Drone Technology with Iran to Target U.S. Forces
Russia is providing Iran with VKS-managed satellite imagery showing real-time positions of U.S. forces, allied assets, and naval deployments across the Middle East. Moscow is supplying parts to modify Shahed drones with improved navigation and targeting, plus tactical deployment guidance from Ukraine operations. The Kremlin denied the WSJ report. This constitutes direct targeting support against U.S. forces, an escalation from Russia's prior advisory posture.
Analysis
Prior INTSUM carried Meduza's independent reporting that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran while 'avoiding US red lines.' Today's WaPo report escalates this: VKS satellite imagery constitutes direct targeting support against US forces, not merely advisory assistance.
