Senate Democrats are preparing to force time-consuming repeat floor votes on the Iran conflict in the coming days, potentially grinding Senate business to a halt. The strategy aims to compel the administration to publicly defend a war that has unfolded with minimal formal congressional authorization or oversight. Armed Services Committee Chairman Wicker is separately planning the first public Pentagon oversight hearing on the war. Combined with back-to-back SSCI (today) and HPSCI (March 19) intelligence hearings, this marks the most intensive congressional scrutiny of any military action since the 2003 Iraq War.
