Cybercrime Surges 245% Since Iran War Began, Over 60 Active Threat Groups Tracked

Credential harvesting attempts and automated reconnaissance targeting banks and critical businesses have increased 245% since February 28. Security researchers are tracking over 60 active threat groups aligned with the conflict, 53 operating on the pro-Iranian side. IRGC-backed groups including CyberAv3ngers, APT33, and APT55 have launched attacks on American industrial control systems running water treatment plants, power grids, and manufacturing lines.
